The Public transport of the future . zero emissions luxury liners that go 90 mph Seymourpowell
This thing goes 90 mph and uses a combination of solar and hydrogen. It also has four separate self sealing in case of rupture- hydrogen pockets. Hong Kong to LA in under 4 days.zero emissions is better than airplanes that burn 35000 gallons of fuel.

what do we have against lighter than air technology?

Just go take a look at the us patent office, and you will see thousands of lighter than air floating things. The patent office is hours of good reading. Apparently all the greatest inventions are to be buried there for future generations with common sense. Dirigibles do not need to be the way they are. They have been re-designed in countless ways and degrees of lightness to be the perfect vehicle of the future. Airplane cars with four propellers and deafening sound while they burn shit loads of gas is not the way to go. Boeing jumbo jets hurling a skyscraper lengthwise through the air burning 36,000 gallons of gas is so far from the way it should be I want to scream. To those who say that a downside to airships is that they will be slow, "where there is a will there is a way" never had more meaning. Why was the Hindenburg the end of the air ship era? has anyone seen a plane crash before? it's not pretty. If the paint wasn't also flammable it would have fallen much slower than an airplane.
